Cairns Mushrooms is the most exciting new horticultural business in Cairns and Tropical North Queensland.

Conceptualised in 2002, built in 2006 and officially launched on Tuesday 1st May 2007, Cairns Mushrooms is the only grower of White Mushrooms (Agaricus bisporus) in Cairns and Tropical North Queensland.

Housed in a $2.5 million purpose-built facility at Edmonton, this innovative new business represents a new era of mushroom production in Cairns, is a new industry for the region and has generated new employment.

Privately owned and operated by a third generation Cairns family, Cairns Mushrooms was developed with the specific purpose of being able to supply the people of Cairns and surrounding regions with a high quality mushroom product.

Cairns Mushrooms’ facilities incorporate the latest mushroom growing technologies available, designed to ensure consistent production of the highest quality product.

Growing, picking and packing rooms are electronically monitored and controlled 24-hours a day, seven days a week, to ensure that optimum environmental conditions are maintained at all times. Management is on-site 24 hours a day to oversee growing, picking and packing.

This family owned and operated business runs seven days a week, 365 days a year, to ensure it meets its mission and vision of consistently producing and supplying the freshest, highest quality mushrooms.
